Argynnis paphia – Keisarinviitta – keizersmantel
A. paphia is a relatively new species in Liesjärvi. It was first observed in 2011.
It’s courtship display is spectacular. While flying, the male tumbles over the female.
It overwinters as larvae that stay on the bark of a tree. The larvae feed on violet species.
