Leucorrhinia albifrons – Sirolampikorento – oostelijke witsnuitlibel
Relatively rare and unpredictable species that can be present in some summers and absent in others. Adults have been observed in Liesjärvi and Heinälampi.
Difficult to distinguish from L. caudalis, but L. albifrons has white spots on the edges of its lip. Also, the last 6 abdominal segements are black, as well as the pterostigma.
Larval excuvia were found in a few lakes only. The year 2019 was an exceptual good year for this species. Larvae overwinter twice.
In the Liesjärvi area adults often rest on Ulpukka (Nuphar lutea), but also sometimes on sandy gravel roads.
